WOODEN ARENA

Today we take some of the wood and measured it out to see the lengths. The arena has to be 4x8 so we took some 6 foot wood and added 2 extra feet to make it 8 feet. In order to connect the wood we used some pieces that we cut with the saw and used it as connectors. We also started to drill in the screws in the wood.

lift

Today we created the lift that moves the ball on this PSD day. the only problem to it is that the ball tends to escape from the sides of the robot. So we plan on using other railings to prevent that. Also we took about some wood for the arena that we are building.

Progress

Today our group made much progress for the robot. Henry finished the chain link for our solidworks robot and tanner finished the chassis for solidworks so now all they have to do is the wheels gearing and fine details. Also we perfected the ball pick up mechanism so now we are building something that will secure the ball. Now for extra credit are group is staring to build the arena that will be used for the challenge. The arena will consist of a wood base.

Survey

Today we had to take a student survey based on how we think about school. Questions on the survey include are favorite class and the class we dislike and why. Another important question is what we would do if u were principal. After the survey we worked on the robot and with one piece of flat metal we created the lift that brings the ball up into the launcher. We ran a few test and it seems to work fluently.

lanucher

Today we used the battery and brain to test the mechanism that brings the ball into the robot. The test was successful and now we are beginning to build a lift that will get the ball into the launcher. In order to do this we are using a combination of both flat metal and railing that escort the ball to the top of the robot where the launcher will be.
