Build

Today with finished the frame that make the robot a lot sturdier. Also we are determining the gear ratio that will work in order for our robot to shoot from a far distance. By doing so we will be to shoot fewer balls and score a lot of points.

New design

Today we changed the exterior design of our robot because the robot was to flimsy. Now we created a sturdier robot that doesn't shake when it drives by making a another frame using metal railing that covers the robot. Michael also began the design for the launcher by attaching the metal and wheels but all we have to do is gear and program the launcher.

Ideas

After completing the lift challenge for the robot now we have to build the launcher. Today all we did was find parts to create a launcher similar to nicks groups. We want to make a bigger launcher so we can use more motors and gearing so that we can shoot the ball further. So today created a design and got the metal to build it.

Challenge Day

Today was the challenge to pick up the wiffle balls. We made some final improvements on the robot and did the challenge. We were able to pick up 9 out of the ten balls so we ended up with a 90%. Henry and Tanner are working on the solid works and all we have to do is add the gears to the robot.

Backboard

Today we finished the backboard for the challenge, and Tanner is working on the solid works robot that he unfortunately has to do again. He completed the chassis but he will finish it by tonight. Micheal is working on the robot but I don't think the robot will be ready for the challenge tomorrow since we can not contain the balls that we pick up.

Pipe

Today we really did not get to work on the robot because we had to do interviews on our views on education so all we did was work on solid works for  either our own benefit or for the robot. Luckily Jasen and Dillion took PVC pipe and started to work on the backboard for the challenge.

11/9

Today our group finished building the arena for the challenge. We then started looking for materials for the backboard. We decide to use cardboard because it absorbs the most pressure and allows the ball to dip down into the cooler. We tested this by throwing balls at Henry. We Also put gears to improve the lift mechanism.
